What an Awesome Blessing

Have I said lately how much I love my job? Well, if I haven't, I do. It's one of the greatest feelings to have a job where you actually enjoy going to work everyday and find fulfillment in what you're doing.
Well, yesterday, they put it over the top. I was sitting in my cubicle working on a Perl script to convert an old Greek font to Unicode for a project that I was working on when Michael Cooper (VP of Sales & Marketing) and Joshua Tallent (my manager) come by and knock on my cubicle. Before I continue, let me back up for a second; the other day I had posted on this very blog about how I wanted Logos for Christmas, remember that? Well, a day or two after I posted that, Joshua came by and jokingly made mention of my desire to own the competition's software and made me aware of other software that was very good with the original languages (BibleWorks). I made note of it and started to check them out, and nothing else was said about it. It was funny at the time because I absolutely forgot that he reads this.
Anyway, back to the story. They knock on my cubicle and nearly scare me half to death, which seems to be a normal occurrence at the WORDsearch office. I was working pretty intensely with my headphones on (I think I was listening to Way of the Master Radio) and wasn't expecting anyone to drop by. Considering both of them were standing there, I figured that it was one of two things: 1) a new book had just come in that they wanted me to take a look at (I tend to get excited about that kind of stuff), or 2) they were getting ready to give me a big project. Neither one was the case. So, as I turned around Mike pulled a box from behind the wall, which I figured was some new software that I needed to install on the computer for work.
That wasn't the case either. As I readjusted my eyes, I noticed that it was the Logos Bible software Scholar's Library. They handed me the box and said, "Merry Christmas." They went on to tell me how much they had appreciated me being there as an employee and saw how much I wanted the application, which caused a few of the guys to get together and the company to purchase it for me. I didn't know what to say, so, as I fought back tears (real men don't cry... right... LOL), I said thank you.
After giving me a few minutes to let it soak in, Joshua came back by a few minutes later to explain why they decided to get it for me. Some of which I can blog here, and others I'd rather not share and keep inside the company. He jokingly said that they didn't want me to become so enamored with Logos that I'd move to Bellingham, WA to work for them. Of course, I would never do that! I love the south, I love WORDsearch, and one cross country move was enough for a lifetime! But yeah, they saw how much I love studying the Word and wanted me to best be able to do that. Plus, there are benefits for WORDsearch by having an employee who uses Logos software, but I'll keep my lips sealed on that, although it's probably pretty obvious as to why.
All I can say is that I am truly grateful to work for such a wonderful company and with great loving people. I don't think there's another company or group of people in the world that would do such a thing. I am blessed, indeed. Quite honestly, if it weren't for them, I'm not sure when I would have gotten the software. WORDsearch has made 2007 a great year, all the way down to the small stuff, some of which I've blogged about throughout the year.
I look forward to making the most of the software and working that much harder both at my job and personal studies.

Yes, it's definitely very exciting! I'm really enjoying using it thus far and I will definitely put it to good use. My pastor has already said that he's going to give a training day @ the church sometime next month to teach on how best to use the software for those in the congregation that have it. After that, I should be really good to go. Right now, it's just a lot of watching tutorials along with a lot of trial & error.
