I'm Ready (I Hope)

T-minus 4.5 hours and I'll be behind the pulpit preaching my first sermon. My notes are ready to go, my slideshow is prepared, my Bible is with me. I'm ready, I hope. I'm still a bit nervous, but at the same time I am confident in the Holy Spirit's ability to use and speak through me. Like John the Baptist, my goal is to decrease so that Christ might increase and that He walks away with all the glory from this teaching.

I've been given an hour to preach tonight (that's how long midweek service is), and I'm not sure if I have enough information to fill the entire hour, or if I have too much and have some left over that I won't get to. I've planned it out on paper, but I realize that most of that stuff goes out the window once things start going, and time usually flies during these kinds of things.

It will definitely be interesting, and it will give me a solid indication whether I'm called to be behind the pulpit or whether my ministry is more geared towards writing & teaching. Only time will tell and the Spirit will reveal it all in due time.

Soli Deo Gloria!
